Terms of use

1. The agreement

Reset Buddy (the website, the web app and the iPhone and Android apps) is provided by Morganray LLC ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using Reset Buddy you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

2. Reset Buddy is not medical care or an emergency service

Reset Buddy is a self-help wellbeing tool. It offers short guided exercises such as breathing, grounding and reflection. It is not therapy, counselling, medical advice or a medical device, and it does not diagnose, treat or cure any condition. It does not replace a doctor, psychologist or other qualified professional.

Reset Buddy is not for emergencies. If you might harm yourself or someone else, or you are in danger, contact your local emergency number or a crisis line now. Urgent help in the app lists crisis lines and is always free, but we don't monitor your entries in real time and can't send help to you.

Some exercises involve breathing patterns or gentle movement. Stop if you feel unwell, dizzy or uncomfortable, and check with a health professional if you have a medical condition.

3. Who can use it

You must be 18 or older and able to enter a binding agreement. Keep your sign-in details private; you are responsible for activity on your account.

4. Free trial and subscriptions

Some features are free, including the one-minute reset and Urgent help. Full access needs a subscription, billed weekly, monthly or yearly. New subscribers may get a free trial. The price, billing period and trial are shown before you confirm.

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period, and a free trial turns into a paid subscription when it ends, unless you cancel before then.

• On the web (paid by card through Stripe): cancel any time in Settings > Membership. You keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.
• On iPhone: payment is charged to your Apple ID. Manage or cancel in your device Settings > your name > Subscriptions, at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies.
• On Android: payment is charged to your Google Play account. Manage or cancel in Google Play > Payments & subscriptions, at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Refunds are handled by Google under its policies.

Deleting the app or your account doesn't cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription; cancel it in the store too. We may change prices with advance notice; a new price applies from your next billing period, and you can cancel before then.

For web purchases, we don't refund partial periods except where the law requires it. Nothing in these terms takes away refund or cooling-off rights you have under consumer law.

5. Your content

What you write, record or upload stays yours. You give us permission to store and process it only to provide Reset Buddy to you, as our privacy policy describes. You can delete it, or your whole account, in the app.

6. Using Reset Buddy fairly

Please don't misuse the service: no breaking the law, interfering with or overloading it, trying to get into other people's accounts or our systems, copying or reselling the app or its content, or using it to build a competing product. We may suspend or close accounts that do, and we'll tell you why unless the law or safety prevents it.

7. Our content

Reset Buddy, its name, logo, design, audio, scripts and exercises belong to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-transferable right to use them for your own wellbeing while you have an account. Scripture in the app is from the Berean Standard Bible, which is in the public domain.

8. Changes and availability

We keep improving Reset Buddy, so features may change. We try to keep it available but can't promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. If we ever close the service, we'll give reasonable notice and stop charging you.

9. Our responsibility to you

We provide Reset Buddy with reasonable care and skill. To the extent the law allows, it is otherwise provided "as is", and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for decisions you make based on the app. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud, and nothing takes away rights you have under consumer protection law where you live, including South Africa's Consumer Protection Act and Electronic Communications and Transactions Act.

10. Ending the agreement

You can stop using Reset Buddy and delete your account at any time in Settings > Delete my account. Remember to cancel any app store subscription too.

11. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live and can bring a claim in your local courts. Before going to court, please email us so we can try to sort things out.

12. Extra terms for the iPhone app

If you downloaded Reset Buddy from Apple's App Store:

• These terms are between you and Morganray LLC, not Apple. We, not Apple, are responsible for the app and its content.
• Your licence is to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, as allowed by the App Store usage rules.
• Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
• If the app fails to meet any applicable warranty, you can tell Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any). To the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.
• We, not Apple, are responsible for handling any claims about the app, including product liability claims, claims that it fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, and consumer protection or privacy claims.
• If someone claims the app infringes their intellectual property, we, not Apple, are responsible for investigating and dealing with it.
• You confirm you are not in a country subject to a US government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and are not on a US government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
• Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

13. Changes to these terms

If we make important changes we'll tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. If you keep using Reset Buddy after that, the new terms apply; if you don't agree, you can cancel and delete your account.
